Tomorrow is a boring place.

Now that we’ve seen passage of SOPA and NDAA it is pretty simple to imagine what the “World of Tomorrow” looks like.

If you’re an aspiring comedian you can forget about using a model of viral growth to gain your fame. If you have a publisher or producer they’ll get the final word in clobbering anything you post.

If you’re an aspiring comedian you can also forget about building your repertoire around any sort of racial, sexual, or otherwise offensive speech. You can be jailed indefinitely if something you say contributes to a feeling of hostility or questions the guidance of our supreme overlords.

I’m going to miss the remixes and the text-overs on Tumblr as well. I can’t imagine that with this newfound power; the studio execs will be able to contain themselves to any sort of understanding at all.

I had plans to go to the movies this season and check out some of the big films coming out but honestly; I just feel flat right now and completely disinterested in anything having to do with the MPAA or RIAA.

Does anyone have any recommendations for independent music or film that isn’t associated with one of the above groups where I can pay an actual artist for their actual art without dealing with arbiters or middle-men?

I simply can’t believe that they passed these bills; I can’t imagine the increased expense of law enforcement with these new bills in place.

I just… can’t.
